Mow Cop
It's a fair slog to the top of Mow Cop! Let me be honest - it is
uphill all the way from the canal to the top of the village, an
unrelenting climb over a mile and a half. But, on a fair day, you
will be rewarded with the most outstanding views and in two directions.
To the west across the Cheshire plain to the Welsh foot hills, even
to the mountains of Snowdonia if it's very clear. And to the east
the Staffordshire Moorlands with their rolling hills and rocky crags.
There are several points along the canal from which this walk can
be taken but I will describe the route from bridge 87 at Scholar
Green.
