Macclesfield Canal Society Meeting at Townley Hall Macclesfield

22/04/2022 - 19:30
Townley Hall, United Reform Church Halls, Macclesfield (NB This talk has been arranged 1 week later than usual to avoid Good Friday)

22nd April

Margaret Ingham

Warrington Transporter Bridge

You might not be aware that Warrington has a disused but still intact Transporter Bridge across the River Mersey (in fact it had 2 at one time). It was also the only transporter bridge designed for rail use in the world. Margaret from Friends of Warrington Transporter Bridge will tell us about its history and the efforts that are being made to save it.
