Lock 11 Orchard Project 2017/2018
After discovering the woods at Lock 11, Bosley used to be an orchard in the 1950’s, we decided to tidy up the area and reinstate the orchard.
Thinning of large, self seeded trees in orchard, leaving healthy Sloe and Cherry trees.
Planting;
3x Blackcurrant bushes 5x Gooseberry bushes 5x Apple trees
z 300m woodland trail created, linking Lock 11 offside with Lock 10 offside. Repair of rotten bench at Lock 11 and installation of picnic table in the orchard
in memorial of Lock Keeper David Linney. Ongoing maintenance.
